The Orland Odd Fellows Lodge No. 218 was dedicated on November 11, 1910, and has been used continuously since that time.
The lodge dates in the Orland area back to 1873 when it was located in the town of Olympo, eight miles out on Newville Road.

The Independent Order of Odd Fellows (I.O.O.F.) is an altruistic fraternal organization derived from the similar English Oddfellows service organizations which came into being during the 1700s....Although in Britain the Odd Fellows tended to meet in pubs, in the U.S. the lodges often built their own facilities.
