Coos Bay Carnegie Library
515 Market Avenue
Coos Bay
Built 1914

The Coos Bay Carnegie Library was a public library for over fifty years.

It is a small but stately building of concrete construction in the Classical style. It is typical of the many civic buildings and libraries across the country which emulated grand, classically-inspired buildings designed by American architects schooled in the tradition of the École des Beaux Arts.

Adapted from the NRHP nomination submitted in January 1986.

When we photographed the building, it was a private residence.
