National Register of Historic Places in San Francisco
This Queen Anne residence is one of more than ninety houses built by contractor Daniel Einstein between 1891 and 1906. It is probably the oldest building on its block
The Daniel Einstein House is one of the finest of the 384 surviving Queen Anne tower houses in San Francisco because of its exterior integrity and its interior details which juxtapose several styles: Eastlake, Queen Anne, Classical Revival and Art Nouveau.
Of particular importance, is the original bathroom on the second floor. The wood paneling in this room has a quality normally found in entry halls, libraries, studies or dining rooms of much grander homes.

Like many fine buildings in San Francisco, the Daniel Einstein House is almost entirely hidden by a large street tree.
