A plaque on the building reads:
The Rollins/Eyre HouseJohn and Nancy Rollins built the Greek Revival style, central-passage plan portion of this house c.1870. The east section, built c.1890, changed the building's overall style to Victorian Eclectic. In 1924, Herbert & Nellie Rollins Eyre (both descendents of early Minersville pioneers) purchased the house and lived here until their deaths in 1953 and 1961, respectively. In 1953 the property was bequeathed to Garold and Mary Eyre. Garold was born in this house in 1926 and lived here until his death in 1992.
