Sonoma County Landmarks
In the early 1850s, a Methodist circuit rider conducted the first church services in Alexander Valley in Cyrus Alexander's adobe home. Soon a small church was built. It burned down in 1863.
The present church was built in 1896. The Alexander family donated the land and the Patrick Family of carpenters and other local men did the construction. Mr. Floyd built the hand carved pews and the lectern.
The building was restored in 1956. A concrete foundation was poured, the wood was refinished, the kerosene lamps were converted to electricity, and the floors were reconditioned.

The church building combine elements of the Greek revival and Gothic revival architectural styles.
