National Register of Historic Places in San Luis Obispo County
The William Shipsey House is an example of a residence with Queen Anne and Stick Eastlake influences that was designed by Architect Hilamon Spencer Laird.
It was constructed by Joseph Maino, a local master craftsman.
The home was built for William Shipsey, a prominent force in local politics and law whose work in various levels of government guided the city into a period of change bringing to an end the isolation that had preceded his participation.
