During the 1860's and 1870's, Isaac Summerland ran a General Store on this lot. During the 1880's and 1890's, the lot was occupied by a carpenter who was also Greenville's undertaker.
The present building was completed in 1913 for the Indian Valley Bank, J.R. Murray, President, and H.C. Chamberlain, Cashier. The bank remained at this location for forty years.
A small building in back of the bank was the Greenville Jail until the 1960's.
