National Register of Historic Places in Jackson County
The Sweeney House is a picturesque, brick-faced Norman Farmhouse designed by local architect Frank Chamberlain Clark for prominent physician Charles T. Sweeney and his wife, the former Mary Cleland.
Clark was noted for his ability to adapt historic period styles to suit the tastes of his clients. His Colonial Revival residences were particularly popular.
The Sweeney House is the only French Renaissance house among Clark's many residential works.
