Marin County Points of Interest
Christ Church, the oldest surviving church in Sausalito, is Sausalito Historical Landmark #5.
When built in 1882, Christ Church had a shiplap Carpenter Gothic exterior. When the church was altered in the 1890s and 1912, the shiplap was removed and the style was transformed from Gothic to Shingle Style. I could find no record of the architects involved, but the remodel seems to have been influenced by Ernest Coxhead and the First Bay Tradition popular at the beginning of the 20th century. (Visit the nearby Sausalito Presbyterian Church on Buckley Avenue to note the similarities.)
