National Register of Historic Places in Colusa County
George C. Sellon designed this two-story Mediterranean Revival building with its sixty-foot tower above the main entrance. The salmon-colored brickwork is ornamented with soldier coursing, arches, oriels, bevels and fillets. Doors and windows are surrounded with terra cotta and many of the windows have ornate grilles of wrought iron or turned wood. It is one of my favorite buildings in California.
When we photographed the building in 2011, it housed the Colusa Unified School District and the Community Theatre for the Performing Arts.
