National Register of Historic Places in Yuba County
Jose Manuel Ramirez built this Gothic Revival house for himself in 1851. Almost everything about the design and construction of his building is unique.
Mr. Ramirez built his house of brick which he plastered and scored to give the appearance of stone. The floors in the house are also brick, laid over sand in two layers.
Local lore maintains that all lumber used in the construction is hardwood imported from Chile.
