Sonoma County Points of Interest
Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve is a temperate rain forest containing 805 acres of coast redwoods (Sequoia sempervirens).
In the 1870s, Colonel James Armstrong set aside the area as a natural park and botanical garden to protect this remnant of a once mighty forest.
Sonoma County purchased the property in 1917 and sold it to the state of California in 1934.
