William Turnbull, Jr. designed this single-family residence to harmonize with the landscape. Its design is based on vernacular coastal barns and sheds. It is built of native materials.
The house won many architectural awards and became emblematic of the The Sea Ranch aesthetic. Its Shed Style was imitated throughout the country in the 1960s and 1970s for both residential and commercial buildings.
