When the Liberty Ship SS Jeremiah O'Brien was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978, she was anchored in Suisun Bay along with other ships in the United States Maritime Administration's National Defense Reserve Fleet.
She was subsequently moved to San Francisco and is now docked at Pier 45 near Fisherman's Wharf.
