Built 1890

Architect Ernest Albert Coxhead was raised in Essex, England and moved to San Francisco in 1889. Holy Innocents Church was his first commission here.

Coxhead helped create the Bay Area Shingle style by designing brown-shingled churches and urban homes.

Holy Innocents Church is typical of the rustic sophistication of Coxhead's best work.
