The Brocklebank Apartmants were designed by the architectural firm of Weeks & Day.

Herb Caen, columnist for the San Francisco Chronicle, lived here, which gave him an easy commute on the Powell Street cable cars.

Madeleine Elster, the doubly fictional character played by Kim Novak in Vertigo, also lived here.
