National Register of Historic Places in Sacramento County
The original house and a barn were built in the 1860s as one-story woodframe buildings with gabled roofs.
In the 1890s, the large Queen Anne house was built adjacent to the original house and barn. The new house incorporated the original house which was remodeled as the family kitchen. The design was derived from a published architectural pattern book. During the 19th century, few residential structures in California - except for San Francisco - were designed by professional architects.
