National Register of Historic Places in Sacramento County
The Hotel Regis was built in 1911-1912 with commercial space on the ground floor and hotel rooms on the upper stories. The architectural character of the building is eclectic, drawing upon Renaissance Revival and Chicago School sources.
While the design is interesting, it is the superb terra cotta detailing which sets the building apart. The building is one of the few early 20th century commercial buildings in downtown Sacramento which retains much of its original architectural character and quality.
