Greenville Main Street Walking Tour
This building was preceded by the short-lived McIntyre and Co's General Store which burned in 1881 but was immediately replaced with a fire-resistant building typical of the period - heavy brick walls, steel doors, and steel shutters.
By 1883, the Bransford and McIntyre Store included the telegraph office and Wells Fargo Express. During the last decade of the 19th Century, the building was used as a warehouse, a furniture store, a bank, a pool and card room, and a restaurant and tavern.
A mural on the side of the building depicts the history of Greenville.
