Historic Sites and Points of Interest in Humboldt County
Built of redwood in the Gothic Revival architectural style, St. Bernard Catholic Church was dedicated in 1886. It is the oldest building in Eureka still owned and used by its original owner for its original purpose.
The church was named for St. Bernard of Clairvaux, the patron saint of beekeepers and candlestick makers, who was born to a noble family in France in 1090.
