National Register of Historic Places in Alameda County
This wood-frame house, planned and built by William Meek, is characteristic of affluent California agricultural society in the late 19th century. The architectural style is Italian Villa with many Second Empire details including the mansard roof and oeil de boeuf window in the central tower. The bisymmetrical plan and the bay windows are distinctly Californian.
The Hayward Area Recreation and Park District purchased the property in 1964.
