Points of Interest in the City and Borough of Juneau
This one-story, reinforced concrete building, measuring ninety by one hundred feet, was built in 1936 in the Art Deco architectural style. It has a concrete block foundation with a full basement and a flat roof. The original transom windows above the sidewalk canopy, and the original sidewalk canopy remain. Art Deco elements, smooth surfaces, stylized motifs, and vertical projections above the roof decorate the facade.
The Alaska Electric Light & Power Building contributes to the Juneau Downtown Historic District.
