Also known as the Lane Library, this exemplary Classical Revival building was designed by Albert Pissis.

When we photographed the building, it still contained a library for health care professionals.

The domed building is Temple Sherith Israel, also designed by Albert Pissis and built in 1904 two years before the 1906 Earthquake. The temple is National Register Listing #10000114.
