This Italianate residence was built for merchant Isaac Wormser. After living here for almost twenty years, Wormser sold the house to gold miner John Coleman in 1895. Coleman expanded the house for his large family and purchased an adjacent lot for gardens. The house still has grounds that are luxuriously large for San Francisco.
