The Brocklebank Apartmants were designed by the architectural firm of Weeks & Day.

Herb Caen, columnist for the San Francisco Chronicle, lived here, which gave him an easy Powell Street Cable Car commute to his office in the San Francisco Chronicle building.

Identical twins, Marian and Vivian Brown, lived here. They were known on Nob Hill and around Union Square for their signature identical, bright, snappy outfits complete with hats atop their meticulously coiffed hair.

Madeleine Elster, the doubly fictional character played by Kim Novak in Vertigo, lived here.
