National Register of Historic Places in Coos County
The Judge Harlocker House, located in one of Coquille's older neighborhoods, is the oldest of the three Queen Anne dwellings in Coquille. The design is derived from a pattern book by architect George F. Barber of Knoxville, Tennessee. (The other two Queen Anne residences are the Paulson House and the Sherwood House.)
The house displays classic Queen Anne characteristics including flared chimney, combined roof shapes, irregularity of plan and massing, a hexagonal tower, varied exterior wall treatments and Eastlake decorative elements. These components are combined with some Stick detailing which together make it an attractive, unique and significant structure. .
