Annot lies in the Vaire River valley, surrounded by the Grès d'Annot, weathered sandstone cliffs that have long intrigued both painters and hikers. The river itself runs through the center of town, under a 17th century arched stone bridge which connects the old town with the newer section.
Annot is one of many villages on the route of the Train des Pignes, a steam train that travels daily between Nice and Digne-les-Bains.
