Sonoma County Landmarks
Over the years, this building has reportedly been home to a a stagecoach stop, post office, a roadside hostelry, a bar and restaurant, a store, a butcher shop, a carriage maker, a community hall and the inevitable brothel.

The marker reads:
Washoe House
Erected 1859
Located on Spanish grant Roblar de la Miseria. The pioneer hostelry was built by Robert Ayres and served as a stage coach station between Petaluma, Santa Rosa and Bodega during the early days of Sonoma County.
