Sonoma County Landmarks
Rail travelers arrived at this depot to visit resorts in the townships of Fetters Hot Springs, Boyes Hot Springs and Agua Caliente which were major tourist destinations before automobiles supplanted passenger trains. In 1942, the railroad through Sonoma Valley was abandoned and the rails were removed during World War II.
This vernacular railroad depot is one of the only surviving Sonoma Valley depots although it has been converted into a private residence shielded from public scrutiny. Another surviving depot is in Kenwood.
