National Register #78000762
Nippon Hospital
25 South Commerce Street
Stockton
Built 1910

When the Nippon Hospital was built in 1910, Stockton had one of the largest Japanese communities in the United States, more than two thousand people.

This building is the only surviving landmark of the early Japanese community in Stockton.

When we photographed the building in 2012, it was part of an apartment complex.
