National Register of Historic Places in Lyon County
Yerington Grammar School is an intact structure significant for its association with the development of the City of Yerington.
The school, which served the community from 1912 until 1980, is characteristic of Nevada School architecture of the period and exemplifies the transition from single room county schools to larger and more centralized district facilities.
The masonry building, designed by Reno architects McDonald and Beatty, integrates design elements from both the Italianate and Renaissance Revival architectural styles.
