National Register of Historic Places in Monterey County
George Turner Marsh constructed this building to houes his Oriental art business. The design is derived from the Szech'uan style, defined by complex roof design which varies from saddle to hipped, from peaked to to barrel shaped, and from a straight to a rainbow or convex curved pitch. Gable-ends are decorated to represent the play of air and water and clouds and to express spiritual grounding.
