While small in scale, Gabilan Lodge 372, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, is one of the three remaining grand public buildings in Gonzales, a rural community of simple structures.

The Classical Revival design announces the importance of the building as a community landmark, and distinguishes it from the commercial buildings of the streetscape.

The building is virtually in its original condition, inside and out.
