National Register of Historic Places in Colusa County
The Cecil Ranch is private property just barely visible from Highway 45. Although we have not visited the ranch, we found the following description in a California Department of Parks and Recreation News Release dated 2 May 2003:
The ranch consists of a principal residence dating to 1909, as well as a number of secondary buildings, including a water tower built in 1910, a garage from the 1920s, a bunkhouse circa 1910 and a smokehouse constructed in the 1940s.
A friend of the Cecil family sent us an email, which read in part: "This image doesn’t begin to do the place justice with it’s circular drive, formal gardens with boxwood hedges and roses, and canopy of tall trees, but it’s something."
