John Galen Howard designed this Classical Revival building, one of three buildings in the Agricultural Complex.

The Agricultural Complex, located on a rise near the University Avenue entrance to the campus, contains three buildings around a court. Wellman Hall, the focal building, is flanked to the rear by Hilgard Hall and Giannini Hall.

The three buildings are visually unified by Mediterranean landscaping of olive trees and stone pine trees.
