The Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts supports and promotes the full spectrum of Latino arts, including visual and graphic arts, music, theater and dance, writing and poetry, and cultural festivals.

The building was constructed in 1947 as a furniture store and converted into the Mission Cultural Center in 1977.

The Spirit of the Arts mural was painted in 1982 by Carlos Loarca, Manuel Villamor and Betsie Miller-Kusz. It was restored in 2017 by Loarca and Miller-Kusz.

The Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on December 29, 2020.
