This extraordinary Stick-Eastlake, single-family residence is named for Sarah Mish who managed a dressmaking and millinery business.

It was probably built on Divisadero Street in 1885 and moved to its current location in 1898 when Divisadero Street was being transformed into a commercial corridor. A vintage photograph shows the house with a mansard roof and grand entry stairs which were removed at some point, maybe during the relocation.

As of this writing, the Sarah Mish House is the administrative office for a community-based mental health agency and is not open to the public.
