Don Lee Building
1000 Van Ness Avenue At Alice B Toklas
Built 1921

This building was designed by Charles Peter Weeks and William P. Day to house Don Lee Cadillac. The partnership of Weeks & Day, formed in 1916, is best known for the Mark Hopkins Hotel.

In addition to the Mark Hopkins, Weeks & Day designed other prominent buildings on the crest of Nob Hill - Huntington Hotel, Brocklebank, Cathedral Apartments - as well as the Sir Francis Drake Hotel near Union Square.

The Don Lee building has been remodeled to house a movie multiplex and residential lofts.
