Coffin-Redington Building
301 Folsom Street
300 Beale Street
South Beach
Built 1937

Frederick H. Meyer, founder of the California College of Arts and Crafts, designed this Moderne commercial building. The original four-story, concrete and stucco building was completed in 1937 and a five-story addition at the rear was added in 1944.

The building was originally used by the Coffin-Redington Drug Company for offices, laboratories, manufacturing, warehousing and shipping. It was converted into 53 "luxurious" lofts in 1997.

One of the many other commercial buildings and residences designed by Mr. Meyer is the Cadillac Hotel, San Francisco Landmark 176.
