National Register of Historic Places in Tulare County
The old Bank of Italy building is the work of an important San Joaquin Valley architectural and engineering firm, R. F. Felchlin & Company of Fresno.
The building is a handsome statement of its type and period. Its Neo-classical and Renaissance elements convey the permanence and stability appropriate to the image of a banking institution of the early part of the 20th century. The quality of the design is notable, and the overall integrity remains exceptionally high.
The Bank of Italy was the center of Visalia's economic activity and played an important role in the development of the community.
