National Register #79000555
Carr House
165 East D Street
Benicia
Built c.1870's

The Carr House was one of the very few structures from the early history of Benicia that survived until the end of the 20th century.

The style of the simple brick vernacular structure suggests a date in the 1850s and would thus date from the years when Benicia was the California State Capitol.

The Carr House is extensively documented in Benicia Portrait of an Early California Town: An Architectural History by Robert Bruegmann and by the Historic American Building Survey.

It was demolished circa 2000.
