The Neo-Classical Federal Reserve Bank building designed by George Kelham is significant as:

  • the first structure built by the Fedreal Reserve in San Francisco

  • representative of the federal government's growing association with monumental architecture

  • an intact contributor to to San Francisco's important collection of clasically designed banking halls

  • an expression of the design ideals of the Panama Pacific International Exposition of 1915.
