San Francisco Landmark #14
Medico-Dental Building
441 Jackson Street
Built 1861

The Medico-Dental Building sits on the hulls of two abandoned ships.

Despite its name, it was built as a warehouse for wine, tobacco and coffee, which perhaps indicates changing - and ever more puritanical - fashions in how to live a healthy life.

The Medico-Dental Building is in the Jackson Square Historic District.
