National Register of Historic Places in Santa Cruz County
This vintage postcard from the 1930s shows the east side of the 300 block of Main Street.
The west side of the 300 block was heavily damaged by the Loma Prieta earthquake in 1989. Most of the buildings were either destroyed by the earthquake or razed because of structural damage. Among the buildings lost were the Stoesser Block and Annex.
The Fox Theater was damaged by the earthquake. It was repaired with some modifications including relocation of the entrance from Main Street to Maple Street around the corner.
