National Register of Historic Places in San Diego County
The Medico-Dental Building was designed by Frank W. Stevenson who designed many commercial and residential buildings in San Diego County. Frank received a 1933 A.I.A. award for his designe of thius building.
The Medico-Dental Building was built to improve medical facilities in San Diego by clustering them in one location. The building was constructed to house one hundre tenants and was situated for accessibility from major arteries, ample parking facilities and convenience to shopping.
The dignity of the building and its tenants was a paramount factor. Rentals were restricted to medically approved physicians and dentists. No "faddists"'or "advertisers" were accommodated.
When we photographed the building, it housed offices for various profession.
