National Register of Historic Places in Washoe County
Mount Rose Elementary School is a rare example of the Mission Revival Style in the Reno area. It is one of the largest Mission Revival buildings still standing and still employed in its original function.
Four elementary schools of similar design were built as a result of a 1910 bond issue: Mary S. Doten, Mount Rose, Orvis Ring and McKinley Park. Both the Doten and Ring schools were demolished and McKinley Park now houses and Arts and Culture Center.
