For almost a century, the Eureka Inn considered itself the finest hotel between San Francisco and Portland. (Contenders were the Benbow Inn in Garberville, California, and the Lithia Springs in Ashland, Oregon.)
The Eureka Inn was closed in 2004 and remained closed until May 2010 when it reopened for business after renovation.
