The Old Homestead

This was the first American home in Crockett, located on an earlier Indian village near the Carquinez Straits. Constructed in 1867 by Thomas Edwards, Sr., on land purchased in 1866 from Judge J. B. Crockett. Located on an earlier Indian village near the Carquinez Straits, its timbers, some of which were brought around the Horn, have been well preserved.

Plaque placed by the California State Park Commission in cooperation with the Carquinez Woman's Club, October 15, 1960.
