Every tourist destination has money shots. Think of Paris, Berlin, Hong Kong.
An image comes into your head. When you vist Paris, Berlin, Hong Kong, you
see that image a thousand times on postcards, tourist brochures, tchotskes.
Our big money shot is The Bridge, but second must be the eastern
outlook from Alamo Square. The appeal is understandable, a century of history
on one glossy three by five. In the foreground, Victorian houses from the end of
the 19th Century. In the background, the Financial District highrises from the
end of the 20th Century.
