Golden Gate Valley Carnegie Library
1801 Green Street
Built 1918

Noted architect Ernest Coxhead designed this Italian Renaissance building which resembles a Roman basilica with its long narrow rectangle and curved apse visible on three sides. It is situated in a residential area in the Marina District.

This is the fourth of the seven Carnegie Branch Libraries built in San Francisco. All seven buildings continue to operate as libraries (see map).
